So, if I’m honest, I’m a recent Great British Bake Off convert – I only started watching the latest series after my boyfriend hounded me into it. But he needn’t have tried so hard, because if it was an X Factor style pure bake off, it wouldn’t have got me – but bring in the ‘showstoppers’ and I’m in hook, line and sinker!!
I love tuning in every Wednesday for Paul Hollywood’s scouse coyness and Mary Berry’s innocent delivery of accidental puns. Best of all, I love what a genuine reality show this is – they help each other, they are likeable people – not picked purely for entertainment factor – and the recipe ideas they have are ingenious!
Watching GBBO has made me want to try some experimental baking of my own and I feel a little help is needed. So, I’m off to the ‘Cake and Bake Show’ at London’s Excel, from 2 – 4 October 2015. There are three main locations: London, Edinburgh and Manchester as the show is touring.
The event will include skills classes and demonstrations by renowned star bakers from GBBOs of past, book-signings and display tables, so you can spend the day honing in those skills! And if you’re feeling confident enough to take your new found expertise to the kitchen, check out the product stalls to get equipped for the job – and for lots of cheeky tasters (my favourite bit!).
Most excitingly, the ‘Cake and Bake Show’ will be bringing GBBO to life with a LIVE bake off! We’re promised former champions John Whaite, Jo Wheatley, runner-up Brendan Lynch and more!
Does this sound like your kind of day out? Why not retweet my competition tweet over at @keepitnorthern for your chance to be there for free – as I’m giving away a pair of tickets to the show at any of the three locations!
Get over to Twitter to enter the competition – and ready, steady, bake!!
My competition will close 23rd September at 11.59pm and the winner will be announced on 24th September. The winner will be tweeted and will have two days to claim their prize, after which, if it has not been claimed, it will be reallocated and the original winner will have no claims to the prize. I will post the tickets out recorded delivery within 2 days of them being claimed. The prize is for The Cake and Bake Show at either London 2 – 4 Oct, Edinburgh 30 Oct – 1 Nov or Manchester 12 – 15 Nov, opening and closing times can be seen on their website. The prize is tickets only and does not include travel or accommodation costs. I reserve the right to cancel the competition at any time. Good luck!
